About the project

Name of the project: Veni, Vino, Vici

The overall objective of the project is to develop and promote cross border tourism based on sustainable use of local resources.

The specific objective of the project is to support the integration of regional wines in the cross border tourism in the municipalities Negotin, Knjaževac and Kladovo in Eastern Serbia and Vidin in North West Bulgaria.

Project results:Carried out four Forums of the wine producers from the cross-border region. As a result of the Forums a network between the wine producers in the region of Vidin and Timok was set up.

  • Integration of cross border wines in the hotels, restaurants and specializing shops in the both regions.
  • Improved and extended museum of wine. Guest tourists in the cross border region can learn about the history of wine production in those regions, as well as to obtain information for the current production
  • Established a joint cross border tourist wine road of wine with a view to promotion of wine cellars of the two target regions, which will allow tourists to visit them and to taste and buy local wines.
  • Promotion of the wine road through printing of promotional brochures, where a Wine cellar is marked as one promotional package, prepared promotional sets of wine glasses for wine tasting, created a web site for the wine road, organized the participation of local producers of wine in the Wine fair in Negotin, organized a promotional tour of the wine road for tour operators and travel agencies from Bulgaria and Serbia.
